A first evidence of a certain Castle de Luco, on top of the mountain, and of a Curtem de Postro, granted to the monks of the Abbey of Farfa by the feudal lord Bernardo D'Arrone, is found in a document dated 1028.

The village of Piediluco is dominated from above by the Rocca di Albornoz, of which today only the suggestive remains of some rooms, the tower and the walls remain.
