Still has intact its discreet charm with the ancient views and atmospheres that can be found in its Citadel and in the historic center.
It has a very reminiscent of the Ligurian cities.

Touring Bastia
Bastia is quite concentrated.
All the points of interest can be easily reached on foot to see it all in a day without fretting.
Place Saint-Nicolas is the largest square in Bastia, Corsica and all of France.
Impossible not to see it.
Even before disembarking, during the approach to the port, it is almost a terrace overlooking the sea and looking towards Italy.
On the western side of the square there are bars and cafes with outdoor tables, including the Maison Mattei.
The historic Corsican label of tobacco products, artifacts in cork and liqueurs exported all over the world.
The Vieux Port is a small inlet of the old medieval port.
Has maintained the atmosphere of the seaside village.
The fishermen still mending the nets and the many wooden boats, alongside the large yachts.
The small Church of the Confraternity of the Immaculate Conception is a real surprise.
On the outside it is rather simple, with a Carrara Marble wall and a Baroque door.
What is striking is not its structure, but the sun-shaped decoration on the sidewalk, made with many stones of different shapes and colors.
