The museum is named after its creator, the most authoritative Italian antiquarian, Stefano Bardini.

He created a collection of artwork with a deep passion for the Renaissance and skill at unearthing medieval Florence.

The ceilings are magnificent examples of Venetian glass and Tuscan woodwork.

For visitors with disabilities, entry is instead from Piazza de 'Mozzi n 1.

The Museum is accessible to wheelchair users and disabled people in all its parts, except for the Armory Hall.
